My Yves Saint Laurent Jewellery

09 November 2015

It was only recently that I realised how little of my wardrobe staples were reflected on my blog. I always love to see what other fashion bloggers call their staple 'go-to' pieces, so I thought why not show you some of my own?

If you followed my blog from it's beginning in 2011, you will have noticed that my tastes have radically changed. For me its now all about comfort, practicality and of course investment pieces.

Click below to find out more about my two favourite pieces of jewellery.

Let's begin with my first piece, my YSL Arty ring. I purchased this from the Irish retailer Brown Thomas Marvel Room, December 2012. To be quite honest, this was a case of Christmas self gifting.

I had wanted one of these beautiful rings for as long as I could remember. It was something I wouldn't have usually treated myself to, but when I laid eyes on them in the Brown Thomas Marvel Room it was love at first sight.

When I realised this ring was the last in my size, it sealed the deal. I purchased this piece as a Christmas gift to myself. It was my final year of studying for my Undergraduate Degree, it had been a  challenging year - so I thought, why not?

Little did I know that this little Arty ring would begin my wardrobe evolution.

My Arty ring still remains a special piece, even though I rarely wear it these days. The fact that these rings are now discontinued is another reason for its special place amongst my jewellery.

Next is my absolute favourite piece of jewellery, which I still adore as much as the day I was given it.

Once again, this was not a piece which I imagined I would own. You probably aren't aware, but I'm more of an expensive handbag kind of girl. As much as I love accessories, I always try to work out cost per wear in my mind (does that even make things cheaper..? I think so!).

This beautiful bracelet was very kindly given to me by my parents as my graduation present for my Undergraduate Degree. Again, it was purchased at Brown Thomas.

Everyone else was getting watches, but I just didn't want one. After countless days spent browsing wrist wear, this little beauty caught my eye and I couldn't stop thinking about it.

I'm aware many people will question the functionality of this bracelet, but honestly it is still one of my most worn pieces. This bracelet is more special than a watch to me.

I received this bracelet in 2013, and 2 years later it's still my piece de resistance when forming an outfit.

These bracelets are still available to purchase, and in a variety of colours too.

I love getting jewellery, and other luxury items as special gifts marking an occasion. I imagine myself wearing these pieces for the rest of my life.

Do you have any special jewellery?
