This week I was invited along to the Oasis A/W 13 press preview day held at their St. Stephen’s Green store. If you're on the hunt for the perfect winter essentials, as well as catwalk inspired pieces for your winter wardrobe Oasis is THE place to be. Their press day displayed everything from winter white coats, the fluffiest of knits (VERY on trend!) to the most gorgeous genuine leather pieces. If you can’t already tell I’m extremely excited about the Oasis offerings this season. Click below to take a look for yourself, this post is image heavy but you’ll thank me for it.

As always the Oasis team surpassed themselves with their visual merchandising and general presentation of the upcoming A/W 13 stock. Upon entering the airy upstairs space I was greeted by Christine, a personal shopper at Oasis, who talked me through the many trends within the A/W collection.

Texture, and contrasting textures is a huge aspect of
the clothing landing in store over the next few months. There is a mash up of
ladylike laces and cosy mohair knits, in comparison with an abundance of edgier
leathers, pony skin and shearling. Print of course is another huge element,
with everything from glamorous jacquard trousers, winter florals, and of course
fun animal print to liven up your winter wear.

Colours are warm and rich, and very flattering for Irish skin tones. Another great thing is the variety of colours each garment comes in. For instance all of the jumpsuits I have featured through out my blog come in black and red, how's a girl to choose?

I am absolutely in LOVE with the wide range of jumpsuits and playsuits on offer at Oasis this Autumn / Winter season. They are tailored to perfection, and offer a practical yet stylish alternative to our go-to occasion dresses for the party season. Another great thing is there's a minimal fake tan effort with these pieces (always a bonus!).

Before you even ask, yes the lace jumpsuits are fully lined to protect one's modesty. If you're like me and fell in love with the red Dolce and Gabbana lace, then this jumpsuit is for you. If you prefer something a little more subtle then don't fret, it also comes in black.

Another of my top picks from the day are the bodycon midi dresses, which come in a variety of fabrics. Firstly they are flattering for all figures and ages. Secondly, like the jumpsuits they're another handy one to wear when you don't have the time to fake tan every inch of your body. Just throw on the dress and you're good to go. Or perhaps do a little accessorising with the ornate neck pieces landing in Oasis stores soon.

The most expensive price point for these necklaces is only €30, such a bargain! They're so chunky and well made, definitely worth investing in to jazz up winter layers, or wear on glam nights out with a bodycon midi dress or jumpsuit.
Another of my MUST HAVE pieces from the day is this fab white coat (which also comes in baby pink and baby blue). I'm pretty sure you all know by now that white has transcended from a 'summer' look, and now become a staple in our A/W sartorial lives. This coat ticks all the boxes, it's stylish but it's also cosy and warm. If you're having a lazy day simply stick on this coat with your favourite pair of skinny jeans and trusty jumper to look as though you just stepped off the runway at a Celine show.

Finally to wind up the end of this post I have possibly left the best until last. It's no secret that I am in love with all things leather. Genuine leather that is, not PU or pleather (whichever name you prefer for the stuff). My mother instilled in me from a young age that investing in good quality leather is the only way to go, these pieces last a lifetime and are always the basis of a good outfit.
Oasis have produced lust worthy leather pieces for this A/W season. Let me start by saying they have made a real leather asymmetric skirt, and it is AMAZING. I somehow overlooked photographing it, but don't fret you can buy it here.

The cut-work detailing gives this dress such a high end look, but also isn't overly trend driven which means this will be a key piece for years to come.

This leather pencil skirt is just my DREAM item for A/W 13. It also comes in a muted teal colour, great if you're looking for a pop of colour in your winter wardrobe. The best thing about this skirt is its versatility. Wear this to the office, on a date or on a night out. Pair with a white tee and your favourite pair of runners for a casual-cool look, or rock with a lace body for a glam night out. The possibilities are endless!

I had a great time rooting through the rails of clothes and pulling my favourite pieces to showcase to my readers. Definitely check out oasis-stores.com to look through the A/W 13 shoot and discover what pieces have already landed in store (I wouldn't want you to be disappointed!). Big thank you to the Aurora Fashions and Oasis teams for inviting me along and looking after me on the day.
Also if you or someone you know is a budding fashion designer this competition will be right up your street. The prize is a job as a Junior Designer in Oasis, which will entail shadowing the Design Director for a year... IN LONDON! Get the details here http://www.oasis-stores.com/designyourfuture

Hello,
ReplyDeleteJust because its cold out doesn't mean your apparels need to be uninteresting and unflattering. In fact, we strongly believe you have more wardrobe options during the winter season.
