Karen Millen are one of my favourite brands for delivering high quality pieces which put an edgier take on the season's trends. There is an element of timelessness to the clothing they produce, meaning that buying a butter soft leather jacket or sharp tailored blouse is not just a seasonal purchase, but an investment piece. I was really excited to be invited to the A/W 12 press day to get a preview of what will be landing in store over the coming months.

The A/W 12 collection was filled with detailed embellishment, from beading and jewel encrusted detailing, to the pattern work on the Baroque style pieces (my favourite!). The collection was punctuated with bursts of vibrant red, a key colour on catwalks for this season.

If you are looking for an on trend piece that will not lose it's appeal over the years I would definitely recommend purchasing from this collection. There were lots of pieces from simple clean cut to heavily embellished, the common thread linking them being the wearability factor.

Firstly there was not one piece that was too fussy to be worn on a regular basis. I know I like to get to wear my clothes, and it hurts my feelings (and bank balance!) to purchase something knowing I can only wear it for very dressy occasions. Secondly all the pieces have an element of ageless chic. Both myself and my mother equally love and wear Karen Millen, which proves the point. Karen Millen produce beautiful clothes that will not only last a lifetime, but can also be worn for a lifetime too.

  1. Wow, the bead work on some of the pieces is exquisite. I agree, I hate buying things that will only be worn once, I feel like I'm wasting my money! Great post :)
