Click for more photos of my take on dressing for the transitional Summer / Autumn Season

Seems like forever since I last sat down to do a blog post, I've been sick and also really busy with work & starting back at college.
I always find dressing for this time of year tricky, it's generally not cold enough for Winter coats, but definitely too cold for rocking a t shirt and shorts. The weather in Ireland is so changeable, expect to be freezing one minute and have the sun beating down on you the next. This is why my favourite technique for dressing appropriately for this time of year is clever layering.
Layering not only is functional, allowing you to add and subtract items from your outfit in order to keep your body temperature regulated. But is also a key look for Autumn / Winter. With decadence and ornate pieces being key to catwalk looks for A/W 12 layering can also be brought to dressy night time outfits, mixing sequins, velvets and baroque prints being great examples.
